New "Regulation on general product safety" (GPSR), into force from 2024

Ny forordning om produktsikkerhed (GPSR) skal anvendes fra 2024

From December 13, 2024, products sold to consumers in an EU country must comply with a new EU regulation on product safety known as the "Regulation on general product safety" (GPSR). Although the regulation officially came into force on June 12, 2023, companies have an 18-month grace period to implement the regulation. The requirements for safe products, in general, remain unchanged, but the regulation introduces new rules on labeling, product safety in e-commerce, and the use of new technologies.

Fra 13. december 2024 skal produkter til forbrugere leve op til en ny EU-forordning om produktsikkerhed (GPSR), når produkterne sælges i et EU-land. Forordningen med den engelske titel ”Regulation on general product safety” er trådt i kraft 12. juni 2023, men virksomheder får en 18 måneders frist til implementering af forordningen. Generelt ændres der ikke på kravene til sikre produkter, men der fastsættes bl.a. nye regler for mærkning, produktsikkerhed ved e-handel og brug af nye teknologier.
